The Naziri Family Private Collection was built by Mohammad Naziri and his wife Lila over the span of five decades spent sourcing rugs from the remote corners of southern Persia. Woven with sentiment by nomadic Qashqai tribes, the rugs were exchanged within the tribes as tokens of affection that hold the stories of romantic love and familial bonds. Showcasing the rich cultural history of the regions, the rugs were carefully curated by the Naziri family for their parallels to 20th-century modern art movements. Like small, rare jewels, the rugs feature vibrant colours, symbolic motifs and patterns that resonate with the spirit of contemporary artistic expression.
