This Crackled Footed Bowl is crafted using an ancient Japanese form of firing called "Raku." Raku ware is characterized by beautifully crackled or metallic glazed surfaces and blackened unglazed surfaces, which are unique low-firing techniques. These specific pieces are created by intricately placing horsehair on the pieces while they are still hot resulting in the stunning crackled finish.
